ATTENTION ALL NEW PUPILS

Your enrollment has been accepted.

This October half-term, pack your robes, polish your broomsticks and prepare for a week of magical mischief as The British Bird of Prey Centre transforms into the Welsh School of Witchcraft & Wizardry!

Your school day awaits… and there are some VERY unusual lessons on the timetable!

SCHOOL UNIFORM

There isn't one!

Witches, wizards, sorcerers, ghosts and magical creatures are encouraged to attend in full fancy dress. The stranger and spookier our pupils look, the better our school will be!

Wands may be brought from home – although you'll soon have the opportunity to make a much better one!

LUNCHTIME

The School Canteen is OPEN!

Hungry witches, wizards and accompanying Muggles can visit café Peckish for something to eat and drink. Alternatively, pupils are very welcome to bring a packed lunch.

Find somewhere to sit, recharge your magical powers and prepare yourself for the afternoon.

Please do not swap your sandwiches for spells.

PLAYTIME

There’s plenty to explore during your school day. Take a wander around the school grounds and meet some of our extraordinary magical creatures.

But remember...
DO NOT PUT YOUR FINGERS THROUGH THE AVIARIES!

Some of our magical creatures have been known to mistake fingers for lunch

All classes run throughout the day 10am - 5pm, they do not require booking and are included in the entry ticket to the centre, unless otherwise stated

Charms Class

Once you have your wand, head to Charms Class to use your best Welsh to practice your spells. Follow the examples and see what mischief you can create!

Transfiguration

Travel back through millions of years without leaving the Centre!

Investigate fossils and ancient creatures and discover how animals have changed, evolved and adapted over time

Can you spot the clues that reveal what today's creatures once looked like?

Wand Making

No witch or wizard should be without a wand.

Choose your materials, select your perfect twig and create a completely unique magical wand before deciding which spells it might be capable of casting.

Potions Class

Take your place at the potion table and prepare to experiment!

Create your own magical potion and decide exactly what you want your spell to achieve.

Good luck? Invisibility? Super-strength? Extraordinary intelligence?

Care of Magical Creatures

Time to investigate some rather mysterious evidence!

Handle and examine bones, skulls, owl pellets and other fascinating specimens as you discover how birds of prey and other extraordinary creatures eat, hunt and survive.

Some of this lesson may be a little gruesome.
