Flying Shows

Each show lasts around 30 minutes and you will experience a range of birds flying free in close proximity, while a member of the team shares interesting facts and stories about each of the birds.

Our birds are all native to the UK and are used to the weather! With the exception of the owls, who do not fly in the rain, all of our other birds are happy in most conditions. Therefore it is very rare we cancel a flying show. If you are happy to stand outside and watch, we will fly!

Become a Friend of The British Bird of Prey Centre

If want to visit our birds regularly then we have some great news for you! You can purchase an annual show membership. Our 'Friends of The British Bird of Prey Centre Membership' is a great way to support the Centre and helps us to continue to develop our education and conservation programmes.

We have two options;

Single-show membership:

This allows you access to one show each time you visit the Centre

£20 per person, per year.

£50 for a Family Membership.

Multi-show membership:

This allows you unlimited access to all shows each time you visit the Centre

£5 per person, per month.

Dogs

Some of our birds are afraid of dogs, so dogs are not permitted into The British Bird of Prey Centre, onto the display field or on any flying experience.

Dogs are only allowed into the National Botanic Garden on Mondays and Fridays and on the first weekend of the month. Please make suitable arrangements to facilitate your visit and never leave dogs or any other animal in a vehicle.

At The British Bird of Prey Centre we have a designated 'dog-friendly area' with benches where you can relax, and we welcome you taking turns to visit the birds if you are visiting on a "Doggy Day".

NEW FOR 2023: We have just added two dog kennels for short term use while you visit the Centre and watch the shows. There will be no charge for use of the kennels. You will need to leave your name and contact details and in return we will issue you with a padlock for the kennel. Owners are fully responsible for the welfare of their dog and for cleaning up after use.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
