Bird Of Prey Flying Shows

From 1st April 2024 - FLYING SHOWS 11.30am & 2.30pm

Tickets £3.00 per person per show

Everyday our birds are given the opportunity to fly free. This will be in one of our spectacular shows. Each show contains a mixture of hawks, owls, eagles, falcons, buzzards and kites.

Combining education and fun you'll be amazed by our team's flying skills but also learn more about their personalities, whilst getting super close to them!

Our aim is to try and get our birds to fly as they would in the wild. So we encourage them to use their natural skills to show you their very best techniques. So hopefully you'll see our kites eating on the wing, our kestrels hovering and our White-tailed eagle soaring above you.

Working with animals means that every day is a new experience, so you can come back time and time again and the show will always be different.

From summer 2021 we increased our seating capacity to 300 so there is now even more reason for you to enjoy the show.

Show Tickets are sold separately at The British Bird of Prey Centre

Please note: Your Entry Ticket is included in the Garden entry and allows you access to visit the aviaries as often as you like while you are here

What people say about our Flying Shows...

THE BEST BIRD SHOW

The best display of raptors I’ve been to. Great narrative with information, humour and pace brilliantly executed. A real MUST for anyone who wants to be informed and entertained at the same time. Came away with a new respect for these creatures and those who look after them. Well done to the keepers.

NOT TO BE MISSED

We have been to quite a few birds of prey displays but this was head and shoulders above the rest. The setting is beautiful and watching the birds fly out across the valley is amazing. You also get to see the birds really close up and observe the amazing partnership between the birds and their handlers. The woman who gave the presentation was brilliant. She was so informative and really focussed on understanding the birds and their personalities. The information on conservation and re-introduction was fascinating and inspiring. Above all though this was great fun; my 8 year old was spellbound throughout. You currently pay one pound per person for entry to the centre and 3 pounds for the display on top of the botanical garden entry which is a total bargain. (The gardens are a delight in themselves.) If you visit the gardens it's a must see!

EXCELLENT ENTERTAINMENT

The National Botanical Gardens are a must visit attraction when in the area and I can recommend a visit to the Bird of Prey Centre.

The shows [held three times daily] was excellent with the birds flying very close to the visitors. Excellent commentary with many interesting facts. The kids loved it!!
